About

Behind the framework,
a single analyst.

NotaSportsGuru is a private consultancy run by a single individual. The work is anonymous by design, what matters is the process, the ledger, and the discipline applied to every position. Not the name behind it.

Origin

Why this exists

The sports betting industry is built around a perverse incentive: most services profit from volume, not from outcomes. A tipster paid per pick will deliver picks every day, regardless of quality. A platform paid per click will reward noise. The clients pay for the system to keep speaking, not for it to be right.

The framework that became NotaSportsGuru started as a private discipline, a way to apply the patience of long-only investing to a market that rewards impatience. One position per day. No volume incentives. No counterparty deals. No marketing layer between the analysis and the result.

What began as a personal practice opened to a small group of clients in 2022. Membership has grown carefully, deliberately. The size remains constrained because edge does not scale linearly, at some point, distribution begins to erode the very advantage that made the work valuable.

The website you are reading is the most public surface this consultancy has ever had. The ledger is open. The framework is documented. The application is available. Everything else stays inside the room.

"Outcomes change every night. The framework does not. Process is what brings me back the day after a loss and keeps me honest the day after a win."

The framework

Six lenses on every position

Each principle is a filter. A position only moves forward when it survives all six.

  1. 01Market First, Context Always
  2. 02Deep Team Knowledge
  3. 03Historical Knowledge with Judgment
  4. 04Pattern Validation
  5. 05Player Dependency
  6. 06Capital Discipline
01

Market First, Context Always

Markets are the execution layer. Context is the filter.

Price movement, liquidity and timing define when to act. Game and team context define whether action makes sense.

Neither works in isolation.

02

Deep Team Knowledge

Coverage is continuous, not episodic. The depth includes:

  • Daily team and player news
  • Tactical adjustments and rotation patterns
  • Internal chemistry and locker-room signal
  • Media pressure and public narrative

Edges from depth are slow to disappear. Markets are slow to fully price organizational nuance.

03

Historical Knowledge with Judgment

History provides context, not answers.

Some past matchups are irrelevant. Others matter deeply. The difference lies in identifying whether a historical pattern has a structural explanation.

Experience filters signal from noise.

04

Pattern Validation

Patterns without explanation are randomness.

A pattern only matters when supported by:

  • Tactical mismatches
  • Psychological dominance
  • Structural weaknesses
  • Repeating strategic behavior

When explanation exists, value becomes visible.

05

Player Dependency

Some teams are systems. Others lean heavily on one or two players. The difference changes everything, injury reports, rest patterns and rotation news become primary inputs, not footnotes.

Ignoring player dependency is the fastest way to get the price right and the result wrong.

06

Capital Discipline

Each position sized as a fixed percentage of current capital. 1% per unit, no exceptions.

Drawdowns are contained by design. Sizing emotion is removed by rule. The strategy scales without re-engineering.

"Conviction is what survives the screen. By the time a position reaches the slate, it has already been declined more times than it has been chosen."

One parlay per day, clarity, structure, consistency.

Operating principles

What the analyst believes

01

Edge is built, not predicted.

The market is a competitor, not an oracle. The job is to prepare a process that compounds, not to forecast a winner.

02

Process is the only thing I control.

Whether a position wins is not in my hands. Whether it deserved to be taken is. Conflating the two is how careers end.

03

A losing position can be the right call.

Quality is decoupled from outcome. Variance is the price of any honest framework, the cost of admission, not a verdict.

04

Audience is a tax on edge.

Distribution dilutes the edge it distributes. Membership is small because edge requires it to be.

05

Transparency is non-optional.

Every position recorded. Every loss visible. The book is open or it isn't trustworthy.

06

Independence is the product.

No bookmaker partnerships. No casino deals. The client's outcome is the only commercial variable that matters.

Membership is by application.

Limited capacity by design. Each application is reviewed personally. Response within 48 hours.
